Rene Russo was born in Burbank, California on the 17th Feb 1954. She started out in showbiz as a model after allegedly being spotted at a Rolling Stones concert in 1972. Russo was one of the top models of the 1970s and early 80s, appearing on magazine covers for Vogue, Mademoiselle, and Cosmopolitan, as well as advertisements for perfume and cosmetics. (Wiki)

Outbreak is a 1995 American medical disaster film directed by Wolfgang Petersen and (very loosely) based on Richard Preston’s non-fiction book The Hot Zone. The film stars Dustin Hoffman, Rene Russo, and Morgan Freeman and co-stars Cuba Gooding, Jr., Kevin Spacey, Donald Sutherland, and Patrick Dempsey.
The film focuses on an outbreak of a fictional Ebola-like virus called Motaba in Zaire and later in a small town in the United States. Its primary settings are government disease control centres USAMRIID and the CDC, and the fictional town of Cedar Creek, California. Outbreak’s plot speculates how far military and civilian agencies might go to contain the spread of a deadly contagion. (Wiki)

In the Line of Fire is a 1993 American thriller film directed by Wolfgang Petersen, and starring Clint Eastwood and John Malkovich. Written by Jeff Maguire, the film is about a disillusioned and obsessed former CIA agent who attempts to assassinate the President of the United States and the Secret Service agent who tracks him. Eastwood’s character is the sole active-duty Secret Service agent remaining from the detail guarding John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas, at the time of his assassination in 1963. The film also stars Rene Russo, Dylan McDermott, Gary Cole, John Mahoney, and Fred Thompson. The film was co-produced by Columbia Pictures and Castle Rock Entertainment, with Columbia handling distribution. Eastwood and Petersen also originally offered the role of Leary to Robert De Niro, who turned it down due to scheduling conflicts with A Bronx Tale. In the Line of Fire was the final film Eastwood starred in that he did not direct by himself until 2012’s Trouble with the Curve.

Nightcrawler is a 2014 American crime thriller film written and directed by Dan Gilroy. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, Riz Ahmed, and Bill Paxton. Marking Gilroy’s directorial debut, it tells the story of a driven young man who stumbles upon the underground world of Los Angeles freelance crime journalism.
The film was screened in the Special Presentations section of the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival. It was released theatrically by Open Road Films on October 31, 201.
The Thomas Crown Affair is a 1999 American heist film directed by John McTiernan. The film, starring Pierce Brosnan, Rene Russo and Denis Leary, is a remake of the 1968 film of the same name.
Russo plays Catherine Banning who is an insurance investigator on the trail of a art thief (Brosnan), the two become romantically involved but who is being honest & who is in it for the money?
Here are some interesting facts about Rene Russo…
- Was originally cast as Dr. Chase Meridian in Batman Forever (1995) but, when Michael Keaton was replaced by Val Kilmer, she was replaced with Nicole Kidman because the producers felt that she was too old to be a convincing love interest for Kilmer.
- Is a huge Red Sox fan, she often attends games at Fenway Park and road games when the team is in California. She attended their post World Series victory party at the team hotel in Colorado after game 4 in 2007.
- She has suffered from bipolar disorder since she was a young girl.
